A Beautiful Covenant
Almost a year has passed since I said “I do” to my best friend—and sometimes I still pinch myself because our wedding at Lone Duck Ranch feels like a beautiful dream. Everything about that day—the setting, the style, the moments shared—came together in a way that truly reflected our personalities. My husband’s western taste, my boho heart, and our shared love for meaningful details felt woven into every corner.
As Christians, we believe in the power of prayer and asked our friends and family to stand with us and pray before we said I do. Matthew 18:20 tells us that "where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them."

Our wedding day was something we both dreamed about for years. We both wanted to make every detail perfect for each other. Our personalities couldn't be more different sometimes, but that is what makes us work. God often reminds me of Genesis 2:18, where He told us, "It is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him."
I can't help but smile (and tear up) when I think about our lives and how God knew we needed each other. On October 5, 2024, we exchanged our vows.

The Details
The wooden arch where we said 'I do' was draped in florals and pampas grass. Cowhide rugs, dried florals, and one of love's greatest verses lined our aisle-to remind us and our guests that love never fails when God is at the center of your marriage.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
And the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Mark 10:8
The morning of was just as perfect as the rest of the day. My husband surprised me with the most beautiful gifts and flowers. He truly thought of every little detail to make my day one I will never forget.
I Finally Said Yes to the Dress
I tried on dress after dress at bridal boutiques. None of them felt quite right. They were either too heavy or just not “me.” I also couldn't see spending thousands of dollars to drag a dress across the grass and dirt. Ultimately, I found the perfect dress from Azazie in a diamond/champagne color, and I found
detachable sleeves in a champagne color on Amazon to give it that "boho" look. I knew I wanted the most comfortable heels I could find that wouldn't dig into the ground so I went for a
thicker heel by Lifestride that had the cutest coquette bow in a blush pink.
Our Cakes
I found the best small baker in East Texas. I ordered a sample cake from her a few months beforehand and let my family be the judge. We still all talk about her cakes to this day! If you are in the East Texas area, I highly recommend Bake Me Happy.
Being a DIY bride is not for the faint of heart...
In a few short months, I poured so much heart into the design of our wedding. I attended two bridal shows pretty early in the planning stages and realized I didn't want to go into debt to have our dream wedding. I knew that the perfect wedding for us was one that allowed us to be involved in the details.
Our wedding brought back life into my creative side. When it was over, I knew I wasn't done and although, months later, I started designing again. My hope is that my Etsy shop provides a space for those that want to budget accordingly and have a role in their wedding design. Our
invitation and
printables are available in my
Woody and Paws Etsy Shop.
Happily Ever After
Our wedding day was more than a celebration - it was the first chapter of our marriage story. I hope our special day inspires other couples to create a day that feels true, filled with love, and beautifully intentional.
Here's to seeing all of the love stories in the years to come!
With love, 💖 Brittany
